Regular maintenance of large vertical packaging machines is an effective way to extend service life and guarantee stable mechanical performance. Below are routine maintenance items. Only trained operators and maintenance technicians are allowed to perform servicing work; all other personnel are prohibited from carrying out any machine maintenance. Always power off the machine before maintenance to avoid safety hazards.
- Machine conveyor belt: Blow clean with compressed air before daily operation.
- Residual film recovery roller maintenance (1) Perform maintenance once a month. (2) Remove the fixing nut of the recovery roller, then take out the spring and collecting wheel. (3) Apply grease to the contact surface between the shaft and recovery roller for smooth rotation of the collecting wheel.
- If residual shrink film adheres to the sealing and cutting blade, gently scrape off residues with a wooden board. Do not use metal tools, as metal friction will damage the protective coating on the blade and impair sealing performance. Note: Never scratch the surface of the sealing blade, which will negatively affect the sealing quality.
- Bearings and bearing housings maintenance: Service once every three months. Drop hydraulic oil into the clearance between bearings and spindles for lubrication, and keep the machine surface clean.
- Chains and sprockets maintenance: Service once every three months. Remove the guard cover of the transmission assembly, apply grease to the meshing gaps of chains and sprockets, then reinstall the guard cover after maintenance.
- Belts will loosen after long-term operation. Adjust belt tension if tight transmission cannot be achieved.
- Check whether the fixing screws of cutting blades are tightened; fasten any loose screws (once per month).
- Inspect the Teflon tape on the sealing silicone strip and replace it if damaged.
- If the Teflon coating on the cutting blade peels off and film sticks easily to the blade, re-coat the blade with Teflon or replace the sealing blade entirely.
- Heating tube replacement: Replace the heating tube once it fails to heat up. (1) Confirm the voltage and power rating match the specifications, cut off the power supply and wait for the tube to cool down completely before replacement. (2) Disconnect the wiring of the heating tube inside the junction box.
