Nowadays, automatic granule packaging machines are widely used for packing granular products such as sugar, coffee, tea, monosodium glutamate, salt, seeds and other particulate goods. However, the safety operation specifications of this equipment are relatively complicated. Toplink Packaging hereby sorts out and shares the standardized safe operation steps for your reference.
Step 1 Pre-start Inspection
Before starting the automatic granule packaging machine, check whether the specifications of the measuring hoppers and bag former meet production requirements.
Step 2 Manual Trial Run Check
Manually turn the main motor belt pulley to test flexible machine operation. Only confirm no abnormal resistance, stuck parts or strange noise can you power on and formally start the machine.
Step 3 Packaging Film Threading & Position Adjustment
Load the packaging roll material between the two film retaining wheels at the lower part of the machine, then place the roll into the groove of the film supporting arm plate. The retaining wheels shall clamp the paper tube core of the roll tightly, align the packaging film perfectly with the bag former, and tighten the knob on the retaining sleeve.
Ensure the printing surface faces forward and the composite PE (polyethylene) surface faces backward. After startup, adjust the axial position of the film on the supporting rollers according to actual film feeding status to guarantee stable and smooth film supply.
Step 4 No-load Test Run
Switch on the main power supply of the granule packaging machine, pull down the clutch handle to disconnect the metering mechanism from the main driving unit, then turn on the start switch for machine no-load operation.
Step 5 Motor Rotation Direction Correction
If the conveyor belt runs clockwise, stop the machine immediately. This indicates the main motor is rotating reversely; adjust the motor wiring to reverse rotation direction for counter-clockwise belt operation.
Step 6 Heat Sealing Temperature Setting
Set the appropriate heat sealing temperature on the temperature controller inside the electrical control box according to the material property of the used packaging film.
Step 7 Bag Length Adjustment
Insert the packaging film into the bag former and clamp it between two traction rollers. Rotate the rollers to pull the film down past the cutting blade. After the temperature stabilizes for 2 minutes, activate the start switch. Loosen the locking nut of the bag length adjusting screw knob: rotate clockwise to shorten bag length, counterclockwise to lengthen it. Tighten the locking nut once the target bag length is achieved.
Step 8 Cutting Blade Position Calibration
After confirming the bag length, move the cutting blades aside. Start the machine to continuously seal several empty bags, then halt the equipment the moment the heat sealer just opens and the traction rollers stop pulling the film.
- Shift the left cutter first, align the cutting edge to the middle of the transverse sealing seam at integer multiples of the set bag length (normally 2–3 times single bag length), keep the blade perpendicular to the film feeding direction, then fasten the fixing screws of the left cutter.
- Attach the right cutter closely against the left one, level the two blades with tips facing each other. Slightly tighten the front fastening screw of the right cutter, then press down the rear part of the right cutter to create proper meshing pressure between two blades, and lock the rear fixing screw.
- Place a piece of packaging film between the two blades, gently tap the front end of the right cutter to test cutting performance. Repeat fine-tuning until the film can be cut off cleanly, then fully lock the front screw.
Step 9 Shutdown Standard Requirement
Upon machine shutdown, keep the heat sealer jaws fully open to avoid scorching the packaging film and extend the service life of the heat sealing assembly.
